Kimya PETG Carbon Filament

Carbon fiber reinforced PETG, with high rigidity and easy processing.

Kimya PETG Carbon is the perfect 3D printing material for model making or industrial components such as brackets and production aids. The enormous stiffness due to its carbon fiber reinforcement and the very simple processing make it a versatile and popular 3D printing filament.

Highlights:

  • High rigidity
  • carbon fiber reinforcement
  • No warping

Kimya PETG Carbon Filament is a high-performance, fiber-reinforced 3D printing material. PETG is a glycol modified polyethylene terephthalate. The plastic is a thermoplastic material that belongs to the polyester family. PET is one of the most common materials in everyday life, as it is used for plastic bottles, for example. The variant modified with glycol is tougher and does not splinter as quickly as pure PET. The PETG Carbon listed here from the French manufacturer Kimya is additionally mixed with carbon fibers. This gives the filament enormous rigidity. Printed components made of this material are ideal for printing quadrocopters or components for drones, for example. PETG carbon is also used for model making or in industrial applications, such as brackets and production aids .

Advantages of Kimya PETG Carbon Filament

  • Good resistance: The material offers good resistance to chemicals, moisture and impact.
  • Lightness: The added carbon fibers make the finished components significantly lighter. It is also possible to save material in a component, for example by printing with less infill or wall thickness. Due to the mechanical properties of the filament, components made of PETG carbon are lighter and save weight.
  • Dimensional stability: The filament offers very good dimensional stability and a low deformation rate. The material does not deform during the printing process either (no warping or layer splitting).

Special Precautions for Kimya PETG Carbon Filament

Because this material is reinforced with carbon fibers, it is an abrasive filament. This means that a standardized brass pressure nozzle wears out quickly and eventually breaks. We therefore recommend using a hardened pressure nozzle, for example made of tool steel or with a gemstone tip. In addition, the material transport (feeder) should ideally also be equipped for abrasive filaments.

Furthermore, we recommend storing this material dry and protected from moisture. PETG Carbon is UV sensitive in its raw form and also slightly hygroscopic.
