Kimya PPSU-S Filament

Impact-resistant filament with high chemical and temperature resistance.

Kimya PPSU-S (polyphenylene sulfone) is a thermoplastic high-performance plastic, which is characterized by high toughness and stability at high temperatures. In addition, the filament is resistant to many chemicals, has good resistance to hydrolysis and dielectric properties. This means that PPSU is a good insulator against current. In addition, the material offers exceptionally high resistance to X-rays and gamma rays.

Highlights:

  • High temperature resistance
  • Chemical resistance
  • Flame retardant (UL94 V0)

Advantages of Kimya PPSU-S Filament

Due to the comparatively high continuous temperature resistance of up to 180°C, the Kimya PPSU is suitable for many different applications. The material is autoclavable and sterilizable. In addition, it has been certified according to EU 10/2011 for food contact. The mechanical properties of the filament are also convincing. The printing material is extremely durable, shockproof and has a high rigidity.

Applications of Kimya PPSU-S Filament

PPSU materials are often used in heaters for press fittings or manifolds because it can withstand high water temperatures and is water and gas tight. In addition, certain purses and purses are made of PPSU, for example, because impact resistance is required there for everyday use.

Notes and special precautions

Kimya PPSU-S is one of the industrial high-performance polymers. Compared to similar plastics like PEI, PEEK or PEKK, PPSU is easier to print. Nevertheless, PPSU cannot be processed on common desktop 3D printers. An extrusion temperature of 360 - 400°C is required. The printing plate temperature should be between 140 and 170°C. The installation space at 100 - 120°C.
