3D-basics TPM Wash Solvent 5 L
Tripropylene glycol monomethyl ether (TPM) is a non-flammable, low-odor solvent used for cleaning and dissolving uncured resins in the manufacture of 3D printed parts using Stereolithography (SLA). Compared to isopropyl alcohol (IPA), TPM has a lower evaporation rate, allowing you to wash about three times as many parts with TPM before it needs to be replaced. However, TPM is not currently certified for use with Formlabs biocompatible resins. However, it is compatible with Formlabs Finish Kit, Form Wash, and Form Cure.
Application
Gloves should always be worn when using TPM. To minimize waste, it is recommended that the parts be cleaned of uncured resin prior to placement in the cleaning vessel. This can be done with a separate container of eighth "dirty" TPM from previous cleaning cycles or low evaporative cleaners such as DPM, TPM or PGDA. After the print is complete, place it in the cleaning vessel and clean the parts for a minimum of 5 minutes or according to the material manufacturer's guidelines. After the cleaning cycle, wash the TPM coated part with water, let it dry and check the surface for tack. If still sticky, replace the TPM.
