What is a high speed filament?

A material is considered a "high-speed filament" if it meets the following three criteria at a specified printing temperature:

1. Flowability: It can be extruded continuously at 24 mm³/s on common extrusion systems (equivalent to 300 mm/s at 0.2 mm layer height and a 0.4 mm nozzle).
2. Formability: At 24 mm³/s it maintains similar surface quality, overhangs and bridges as when printing at lower speeds.
3. Functionality: At 24 mm³/s it retains at least 80% of its overall strength properties when printed at lower speeds (mainly: layer adhesion, tensile strength and impact strength).

PolySonic™ PLA at 230˚C

1. Maximum flow: 29 mm³/s** (tested on a custom extrusion platform with an E3D Volcano hotend, a 0.4 mm nozzle and a Hemera XS extruder).
2. Confirmed similar quality: Polymaker Scientist confirmed similar quality at print speeds of 4 mm³/s and 24 mm³/s.
