Kimya ASA-S - mechanically resilient filament with improved UV resistance

The Kimya ASA-S filament from the French manufacturer Kimya is an acrylonitrile-styrene acrylate, which is very similar to ABS (acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene copolymer), but offers improved properties in terms of UV resistance and weather sensitivity.

The material is therefore particularly suitable for outdoor use. Similar to ABS, ASA is also extremely robust and impact-resistant.

The filament is compatible with most common desktop 3D printers. We recommend a heated print bed and suitable print bed adhesion. To prevent warping or layer splitting, it is advisable to set the model fan or model cooling to less than 30% or to deactivate it completely. In addition, drafts should be minimized, for example by using a cover.

Applications of Kimya ASA-S Filament

The Kimya ASA-S is ideal for 3D printing objects intended for outdoor use or for outdoor exhibitions. Private users often use this filament for use in the garden, for example as an anemometer or flow meter or for flower pots. Industrial users also use ASA, for example for prototype construction in the automotive industry. Bumpers and fittings are made from the plastic.
