Kimya PETG Filament
Carbon fiber reinforced PETG, with high rigidity and easy processability.
Kimya PETG Carbon is the perfect 3D printing material for model making or industrial components such as brackets and production aids. The enormous rigidity due to its carbon fiber reinforcement and the very easy processing make it a versatile and popular 3D printing filament.
Highlights:
- High rigidity
- Carbon fiber reinforcement
- No warping
Kimya PETG Carbon Filament is a high-performance, fiber-reinforced 3D printing material. PETG is a glycol-modified polyethylene terephthalate. The plastic is a thermoplastic material that belongs to the polyester family. PET is one of the most common materials in everyday life, as it is used for plastic bottles, for example. The glycol-modified variant is tougher and does not splinter as quickly as pure PET. The PETG Carbon listed here from the French manufacturer Kimya also contains carbon fibers. This gives the filament enormous rigidity. Components printed from this material are ideal for printing quadcopters or drone components, for example. PETG Carbon is also used for model making or in industrial applications, such as mounts and production aids .
Advantages of Kimya PETG Carbon Filament
- Good resistance: The material offers good resistance to chemicals, moisture and impact.
- Lightness: The added carbon fibers make the finished components significantly lighter. It is also possible to save material in a component by printing with less infill or wall thickness, for example. Due to the mechanical properties of the filament, components made of PETG carbon are lighter and save weight.
- Dimensional stability: The filament offers very good dimensional stability and a low deformation rate. The material does not deform during the printing process (no warping or layer splitting).
Special Precautions for Kimya PETG Carbon Filament
Since this material is reinforced with carbon fibers, it is an abrasive filament. This means that a standardized brass print nozzle wears out quickly and may even break. We therefore recommend using a hardened print nozzle, for example made of tool steel or with a gemstone tip. In addition, the material transport (feeder) should ideally also be equipped for abrasive filaments.
We also recommend storing this material in a dry place and protected from moisture. PETG carbon is UV-sensitive in its raw form and also slightly hygroscopic.
