BASF Ultrafuse PC/ABS FR
BASF Ultrafuse PC/ABS FR is a flame retardant technical filament with very good mechanical properties.
Flame retardant PC/ABS from BASF
Ultrafuse PC/ABS FR Black is a V-0 flame retardant blend of polycarbonate and ABS - two of the most commonly used thermoplastics for engineering and electrical applications. The combination of these two materials results in a premium material with a mix of the excellent mechanical properties of PC and the comparatively low printing temperature of ABS. Combined with a halogen-free flame retardant, parts printed with Ultrafuse PC/ABS FR feature high tensile and impact strength, have higher heat resistance than ABS and can meet the requirements of the UL94 V-0 standard.
Advantages of BASF Ultrafuse PC/ABS FR Filament
- Halogen-free flame retardant with a flame retardancy class v0 according to UL 94 (@1.5mm & 3.0mm)
- glow wire test
- Excellent surface quality
- Extremely good mechanical properties
- UV stabilized
- Good printing performance on desktop printers
Applications for BASF Ultrafuse PC/ABS FR Filament
BASF Ultrafuse PC/ABS FR is mainly used for industrial components that require flame retardancy. This is the case, inter alia, in the automotive and transportation industry as well as the consumer electronics. The filament is tested for flame retardancy class V0 (UL94) for printed parts with a wall thickness of 1.5 and 3.0 mm. For housing parts for electronics, the material was tested according to the glow wire test (GWEPT) 725°C with a wall thickness of 1.5 mm and 960°C with a wall thickness of 3.0 mm.
A notice: We recommend using this material in combination with a closed construction volume to prevent drafts and the resulting distortion. The material has also been tested with Raise3D Pro 2 Plus and Ultimaker S3 and S5 with very good results.
