Bondtech double drive
The unique dual-drive technology ensures an uninterrupted flow of material without fear of shredding or slipping, even in the most demanding conditions. Bondtech users around the world will attest that the extruders perform flawlessly, with unmatched precision, and without damaging or degrading the filament, even on prints involving thousands of retractions.
Multi-Material Ability
The Bondtech BMG Extruder feeds all materials with high reliability, from smooth nylons and soft TPU/TPE filaments to highly rigid and sometimes brittle carbon-filled high-strength materials. The extruder is designed for 1.75mm filament, but has been tested to ensure performance of filaments from 1.5mm up to 2.0mm, allowing for high reliability regardless of the tolerance of the filament used. The filament path is fully routed through the extruder body and the housing maintains tight tolerances to the drive gears, reducing the risk of filament misfeeds when there is increased back pressure in the hot end or when using highly flexible filaments.
Adjustable tension
The thumbscrew tensioner allows the user to fine-tune the pressure exerted by the drive gears on the filament. This gives you the ability to set the print to your liking and optimize it for the type of material used.
quick release
To make material changes on the fly, simply activate the quick-release lever to release tension and pull the material to be changed out of the extruder, hold it activated and insert the new material.
Construction for multiple applications
This extruder can be used in a bowden or direct setup, giving you the flexibility to choose what works best for your application. In addition, it has an integrated hotend retention method that is compatible with the E3D V6 hotends or others that use the GrooveMount standard. Mounting your hotend is easy, safe and wobble-free with just two screws.
Flexible mounting options
Bondtech has designed a standard mounting bracket, both in CNC and as a 3D printed part, which you can download for free from the stl archive. The standard bracket is CNC machined from 3mm aluminum for maximum strength. The extruder fits any Nema17 stepper motor with a standard 5mm shaft. This extruder is sold without a motor. Extruder weight without motor: 75g. E-step value: 415.
New construction features
The motor gear is made of brass. The corrosion resistant material will stop the very low incidence of oxidation problems that have occurred with the steel gears. The POM gear attached to the mainshaft is now black. This is purely an aesthetic upgrade and reduces the visibility of dirt. The push-fit is now threaded. It can be removed and/or replaced to facilitate unclogging without damaging the BMG body.
