The Bondtech BMG Extruder uses a 3:1 internal gear ratio along with precision CNC machined hardened steel drive gears to give you a compact powerhouse for all your applications. Whether you need high resolution prints with small nozzles or high flow prints with large nozzles, the optimized gear ratio coupled with the industry leading drive gears provide unparalleled thrust and lightning fast retracts in a lightweight and compact package.

Bondtech dual drive

The unique dual drive technology ensures uninterrupted material flow without fear of shredding or slippage, even in the most demanding conditions. Bondtech users around the world will attest that even on prints with thousands of retractions, the extruders operate flawlessly, with unmatched precision and without damaging or degrading the filament.

Multi-material capability

The Bondtech BMG Extruder feeds all materials with high reliability, from smooth nylons and soft TPU/TPE filaments to highly stiff and sometimes brittle carbon-filled high-strength materials. The extruder is designed for 1.75mm filaments, but has been tested to ensure performance of filaments from 1.5mm up to 2.0mm, allowing high reliability regardless of the tolerance of the filament used. The filament path is completely routed through the extruder body and the housing maintains tight tolerances to the drive gears, reducing the risk of filament misfeeds under increased back pressure in the hot end or when using highly flexible filaments.

Adjustable voltage

The thumbscrew tensioner allows the user to fine-tune the pressure exerted by the drive gears on the filament. This gives you the ability to set the pressure to your liking and optimize it for the type of material you are using.

Quick release

To make material changes in a snap, simply operate the quick release lever to release the tension and pull the material to be changed out of the extruder, keep it activated and insert the new material.

Designed for multiple applications

This extruder can be used in a Bowden or direct mount setup, giving you the flexibility to choose what works best for your application. Additionally, it features a built-in hotend retention method that is compatible with the E3D V6 hotends or others that use the GrooveMount standard. Mounting your hotend is easy, secure, and wobble-free with just two screws.

Flexible mounting options

Bondtech has designed a standard mounting bracket, both in CNC and as a 3D printed part, which you can download for free from the stl archive. The standard bracket is CNC machined from 3mm aluminum for maximum stability. The extruder fits any Nema17 stepper motor with a standard 5mm shaft. This extruder is sold without a motor. Weight of the extruder without motor: 75g. E-step value: 415.

New design features

The motor gear is made of brass. The corrosion resistant material will stop the very small incidence of oxidation problems that occurred with the steel gears. The POM gear attached to the main shaft is now black. This is purely an aesthetic upgrade and reduces the visibility of dirt. The push fit is now threaded. It can be removed and/or replaced to make it easier to unclog without damaging the BMG's housing.
