The Bondtech BMG-X2 material extruder uses a 3:1 internal gear ratio along with precision CNC machined hardened steel drive gears to give you a compact powerhouse for all your applications. Whether you need high-resolution prints with small nozzles or high-flow prints with large nozzles, the optimized gear ratio coupled with industry-leading drive gears deliver unparalleled thrust and lightning-fast retracts in a lightweight and compact package.

Bondtech double drive

The unique dual-drive technology ensures an uninterrupted flow of material without fear of shredding or slipping, even in the most demanding conditions. Bondtech users around the world will attest that the extruders perform flawlessly, with unmatched precision, and without damaging or degrading the filament, even on prints involving thousands of retractions.

Multi-Material Ability

The BMG extruder feeds all materials with high reliability, from smooth nylons and soft TPU/TPE filaments to highly rigid and sometimes brittle carbon-filled high-strength materials. The extruder is designed for 1.75mm filament, but has been tested to ensure performance of filaments from 1.5mm up to 2.0mm, allowing for high reliability regardless of the tolerance of the filament used. The filament path is fully routed through the extruder body and the housing maintains tight tolerances to the drive gears, reducing the risk of filament misfeeds when there is increased back pressure in the hot end or when using highly flexible filaments.

Adjustable tension

The thumbscrew tensioner allows the user to fine-tune the pressure exerted by the drive gears on the filament. This gives you the ability to set the print to your liking and optimize it for the type of material used.

quick release

To make material changes on the fly, simply activate the quick-release lever to release tension and pull the material to be changed out of the extruder, hold it activated and insert the new material.

Included stepper motors

The included powerful Nema17 pancake motors offer high torque and low weight.

Flexible mounting options

The standard CNC machined aluminum bracket can be used to mount the extruder as shown in the photos, or a simple 3D printed bracket can be used. You can download a cad or stl file of the extruder where you will find the dimensions you need to design your custom fixture. The extruder is delivered without brackets.

Additional Information

A short length of 4/2mm PTFE tubing is used to feed the filament into the HotEnd. The length of this PTFE tube should be 38.0mm (not included with the extruder).
