The Bondtech BMG-X2 material extruder uses a 3:1 internal gear ratio along with precision CNC-machined hardened steel drive gears to give you a compact powerhouse for all your applications. Whether you need high-resolution prints with small nozzles or high-flow prints with large nozzles, the optimized gear ratio coupled with the industry-leading drive gears provides unparalleled thrust and lightning-fast retracts in a lightweight and compact package.

Bondtech dual drive

The unique dual drive technology ensures uninterrupted material flow without fear of shredding or slippage, even in the most demanding conditions. Bondtech users around the world will attest that even on prints with thousands of retractions, the extruders operate flawlessly, with unmatched precision and without damage or degradation of the filament.

Multi-material capability

The BMG extruder feeds all materials with high reliability, from smooth nylons and soft TPU/TPE filaments to highly stiff and sometimes brittle carbon-filled high-strength materials. The extruder is designed for 1.75mm filaments, but has been tested to ensure performance of filaments from 1.5mm up to 2.0mm, allowing high reliability regardless of the tolerance of the filament used. The filament path is completely routed through the extruder body and the housing maintains tight tolerances to the drive gears, reducing the risk of filament misfeeds under increased back pressure in the hot end or when using highly flexible filaments.

Adjustable voltage

The thumbscrew tensioner allows the user to fine-tune the pressure exerted by the drive gears on the filament. This gives you the ability to set the pressure to your liking and optimize it for the type of material you are using.

Quick release

To make material changes in a snap, simply operate the quick release lever to release the tension and pull the material to be changed out of the extruder, keep it activated and insert the new material.

Included stepper motors

The included powerful Nema17 pancake motors offer high torque and low weight.

Flexible mounting options

The standard CNC machined aluminum bracket can be used to mount the extruder as in the photos, or a simple 3D printed bracket can be used. You can download a cad or stl file of the extruder where you will find the dimensions you need to design your custom bracket. The extruder comes without brackets.

Additional Information

A short piece of 4/2mm PTFE tubing is used to guide the filament into the HotEnd. The length of this PTFE tubing should be 38.0mm (not included with the extruder).
