ULTEM™ is a high performance polymer widely used in the most demanding market segments such as aerospace, automotive and medical.

ULTEM™ is highly valued and approved by aircraft manufacturers and the railway industry due to its unique material properties such as low flammability and toxicity .

In order to achieve high print quality, the printing process must be carried out in a heated chamber. The minimum temperature must be 170 ° C and the heat distributed evenly. Printing with this material also requires a special surface. 3DGence INDUSTRY F420 is the perfect choice for precise modeling and processing of ULTEM™ 3D printing filament.

Its unique properties include high temperature resistance up to 180°C, resistance to natural and synthetic solvents, high dielectric strength and excellent thermal conductivity. ULTEM™ is also known as PEI (polyetherimide). The filament can be made from many different polymer grades, the most common being AM9085F. ULTEM™ shows slightly lower strength, stability and creep resistance compared to PEEK and PEKK. Due to its properties, this material is widely used in the railway, aerospace and automotive industries. 3D printed ULTEM parts are used to replace metal parts.
