In comparison: Raise3D Pro2 series - Raise3D Pro3 series

Vergleich Raise3D Pro2 und Pro3 Serie

Erik Friedrich |

In this article we would like to show you the main innovations of the new Raise3D Pro3 series compared to the previous Pro2 series .

Raise3D Pro3 Series

First of all, it should be mentioned that the size of the printing platform in the new Raise3D Pro3 series does not differ from the previous format of the Pro2 series.

There are some technical innovations that are certainly valuable for even better and repeatable printing results.

1. Replaceable hotends

A major upgrade over the Raise3D Pro2 series to increase the usability of the new Raise3D Pro3 series is the new independent, modular hotend. This can be easily replaced using a click and lock mechanism to avoid long downtimes and to easily switch between other nozzle types and sizes. Raise3D Pro3 - Interchangeable Hotend

2. Automatic bed leveling

Until now, Raise3D delivered the Pro2 series with a factory calibration of the build platform, which required only minimal calibration effort .

The new Pro3 series now also has automatic print bed leveling, which has another positive effect on user-friendliness. In this precise leveling process, 9 points on the build platform are calibrated to achieve uniform alignment across the entire build platform. Automatic print bed leveling thus guarantees consistent quality of the printed products and significantly reduces the time required for calibration.

3. Airflow Manager

Completely new and not previously available in this form in the Pro2 series is the new Air Flow Manager, which evenly circulates air in the build chamber and supports heat dissipation during the printing process. In addition, the Air Flow Manager is equipped with a HEPA filter to filter and clean the air inside the build chamber. Raise3D Pro3 - Air Flow Manager

4. EVE

The Raise3D Pro3 has a unique feature in its segment, namely an integrated intelligent assistance system called Eve. The Eve Assistant guides the user in the event of problems that could affect the final print job by pinpointing the problem and helping to resolve it. Another interesting feature is the analysis of printer usage. Eve reminds the user of planned interventions, thus ensuring that printer maintenance is carried out on time. With Eve, user-friendliness is significantly increased. Raise3D Pro3 Series - Eve Smart Assistant

Further innovations and improvements

So much for the most important and noticeable innovations of the Pro3 compared to the Pro2. Other noteworthy innovations are as follows:

Magnetic build platform

Like the Raise3D E2, the Pro3's build platform is magnetic and flexible. This means that the build plate can be easily removed and the component can be easily removed from the build plate without damaging it.

Both the predecessor and the new Raise3D Pro3 series come with a Buildtak coating on the build plate as standard. However, the aluminum build plate on the Raise3D Pro2 still needs to be secured with two adjustment wheels.

Sleep mode

Another well-known function that has been adopted from the Raise3D E2 is the sleep mode. This function turns off the light, including the display if necessary, but printing can continue. This function is particularly interesting if you want to leave the printer running overnight.

Improved stability

Although the precision and repeatability of the Z-axis was already enormous in the Pro2, the Z-axis rod rigidity has been increased by another 75% in the Pro3 by using two ball screws, resulting in even more stable performance.

Safety-related aspects

The front door and cover are also equipped with a magnetic switch. This means that the printing process switches off automatically when the door and cover are opened. When the door and cover are closed again, the printing process continues at the same point. This reduces the risk of injury from moving parts. This is a particularly interesting feature for educational institutions.

However, the Pro3 has one small disadvantage compared to the Pro2, namely the print volume in dual mode is slightly smaller due to the size of the print head. In single mode, however, the print volume is identical to the Pro2.
