Kimya ABS Kevlar Filament

Suitable for ultra-light and highly resilient components.

The Kimya ABS Kevlar filament from the French manufacturer Kimya is a 3D printing material that has excellent mechanical properties. It is a modified ABS (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene copolymer) with Kevlar fibers for increased impact resistance and aramid fibers for better compression properties. ABS is a plastic polymer resulting from the polymerization between styrene and acrylonitrile in the presence of polybutadiene.

Addition of aramid fibers to prevent warping

The use of aramid fibers in Kimya ABS Kevlar significantly reduces the warping phenomenon. In addition, the 3D-printed components are lighter and more impact-resistant than conventional ABS or carbon-fibre-reinforced ABS Carbon. It's important to note that Kevlar is significantly more susceptible to UV rays than carbon fiber, for example. The components are comparatively stronger and more resilient with Kevlar, but for outdoor use and under the influence of the weather we recommend other filaments (such as Kimya ABS Carbon).
