One Touch Vacuum Seal

The SMART vacuum filament storage solution. With a built-in vacuum pump and rechargeable battery, this filament container can be vacuum sealed by pressing ONE button. No more manual pumping. More importantly, we also integrated a re-seal sensor inside that constantly monitors the vacuum level and automatically activates the vacuum pump once the vacuum level drops. This prevents leakage for a long period of time. Easily store your filament without worrying about leaks.

Characteristics

  • One-touch sealing
  • Holds up to 3 spools
  • One-touch to open
  • Rechargeable battery: The battery lasts about 2 months if opened and closed only once a day.
  • LED indicator: The LED lights show you whether the device is turned on and whether the battery needs to be charged.
  • Window: A window has been built in so you can see the filaments stored inside. The color and size are clearly visible without having to break the seal.
  • Handles: Protruding handles on the sides of the container are designed for easy carrying or moving without sacrificing interior space.

Filaments for 3D printing, especially those made of plastic, should be stored in a controlled environment to maintain their quality and processability. A vacuum is one such controlled environment that is recommended for storing filaments. Here are the reasons why:

1. Prevent moisture absorption : Many plastic filaments, such as PLA or ABS, are hygroscopic, meaning they can absorb moisture from the air. Moisture can change the properties of the filament, affecting print quality. Damp filament can cause blistering, cracking, or irregular surfaces when printing.

2. Avoid deformation : Moisture in the filament can cause vapor formation during the printing process. This in turn can lead to uneven extrusion and deformation of the printed object.

3. Improved print quality : Dry filament allows for consistent extrusion and better layer adhesion, resulting in higher overall print quality.

4. Extending shelf life : Storing the filament in a vacuum or other controlled environment container can extend its shelf life by protecting it from environmental influences.

5. Reduce Wastage : Wet filament can cause prints to fail or not reach the desired quality standard. This can lead to wasted material and time-consuming reprints. Proper storage can minimize such problems.

6. Consistent printing parameters : Dry filament has more consistent properties, making it easier to achieve consistent printing parameters and results.

If you want to store filaments in a vacuum, it is advisable to use special storage containers or bags that provide a vacuum seal. Alternatively, you can use drying units that are specifically designed for filament drying. However, keep in mind that not all filaments absorb moisture equally, and some materials are less sensitive to moisture than others. Nevertheless, it is good practice to store filaments in a controlled environment to ensure the best possible print quality and durability.
