Kimya PLA-HI (polylactide, from the English word "polylactic acid") is a 3D printing filament that is a modified PLA. Thanks to special additives in the manufacturing process, the material has four times the impact resistance of standard PLA. The filament is a light and durable thermoplastic that is a high-quality alternative to other plastics that are traditionally used in 3D printing (standard PLA or ABS). Kimya PLA-HI combines the easy processing of PLA with the mechanical properties of ABS (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene copolymer).

PLA-HI is more impact-resistant than ABS without making the printing process more difficult. Targeted formulation modifications also give the plastic a tensile modulus and elongation percentage that is comparable to ABS. Furthermore, the filament spools of this material are made from 100% used ink cartridges. The printing material itself is made from natural materials such as corn starch or cane sugar.
