The addition "-S" in the article name indicates that this is a standard filament, without any fiber reinforcement or the like.

Advantages of Kimya PC-S Filament

    • Kimya polycarbonate 3D printing filament is heat resistant up to 140°C. This also means that it can be sterilized in certain machines (e.g. autoclave). The translucent variant of the material is also certified for food contact according to EU10/2011 and FDA CFR 21.
      • As usual with polycarbonate, the material is extremely strong and robust. The printed components can withstand the greatest loads. It is one of the most durable filaments that can be processed with a standard 3D printer.

        Applications for Kimya PC-S Filament

        The polycarbonate from the Kimya brand is ideal for creating functional components or prototypes. The food industry in particular uses this material. Polycarbonate is often used in warmer environments due to its good temperature resistance. Polycarbonate is used for housing parts or safety helmets (motorcycle helmets, bicycle helmets, etc.) . In some cases, food boxes are also made of PC.

        Notes on the use of polycarbonate filaments

        Polycarbonate filaments have to be printed at a very high temperature. The material generally has a tendency to warp, so we always recommend using a print bed adhesive, of which you will also find a selection in our range. The right choice is often subjective. We can recommend Magigoo PC and a top cover for this filament, among other things. The cover closes the construction space and prevents drafts from negatively affecting the printing result.
